My roomate's an engineer at the navy stockyard. One day last week she comes home and tells me that she was approached by her boss earlier. My roomate's the chief engineer on a project and her boss asked her if she wanted to be the chris engineer on another project where her work would fly her to the Bahamas. She'd have to work an extra two weeks longer this summer, the last of which she'd be in the Bahamas presenting this before them there. Her boss needed to know right then and my roommate froze, then declined it. Her reason? She doesn't like speaking in front of people. By the time she got back home she was really regretting the whole situation, poor thing. Oh well. Live and learn I guess.
Things are still either super busy or boring at work. Today I stayed very busy and even got to go to a senate committee on foreign relations w/ Yemen. Very interesting, but a very tight place they had us cramped into. I swear I could feel the guy next to me breathing lol met lots of different people - John Kerry, president of planned parenthood, etc. It keeps it every interesting. Also met people who I didn't know who they were and when I introduced myself they only used their first names. Still don't know who those people are lol nice people. Each had big bodyguards.
Oh yeah, so Brent and I had senate bean soup today. Apparently it's a big thing lol Brent was so pumped about it he even was telling me all about the history of it, which I'll admit i didn't even know it existed up til now. Lol so we had it! It was...bean soup...tasted pretty normal to me.
