So I spread the word about candy canes at Starbucks to a few of my friends and it rapidly spread across campus from one thrilled international student to another lol ok, mainly just the Americans and Europeans…the rest were like "what's a candy cane?" We have been mourning the fact that we’re missing Christmas and all that goes with that, although for each country Christmas seems to be on a different day. Some it’s December 5th, some December 24th, for America it’s December 25, obviously. But it’s been fun talking about each country’s traditions and such J My history teacher lived in America while getting her Masters degree and this is her second year back in Turkey and she says she really misses Christmas time too. Jamie and I have been searching for a Christmas tree…or something that might resemble a Christmas tree lol but with no such luck. Maybe I’d have better luck finding a picture of a bull and get into the holiday spirit by hanging that up ;)
So I gave my speech on Monday on Armenian and American nationality….first I got the book on which I was suppose to talk for an hour about the author’s view on these two subjects…ok…the book was on Israel nationality lol There was two pages on Armenia…and do you know how much there was on America? 17 sentences! 17! (in case you missed that the first time…) I think I did pretty well making 2 pages and 17 sentences an hour…seeing as I wasn’t suppose to talk about anything except the author’s view. But it’s doooo-ne! Yeah baby! Now I just have two papers due next week and three the week after that :p
