Sunday night steph asked me if I could find a DC postcard with several pictures of DC on it so she could send it to her compassion kid. Sometime on Monday when Brent and I were bored we took a walk to the gift shop in the basement of the senate, but alas, all their postcards only had one photo on it. So we decided to try the House gift shop which I'd never been to. We found one! So I bought one for my compassion kid too and we headed back to our office. On the way back we got stopped and questioned by the Capitol police because apparently I looked like a tourist carrying DC postcards in a staff only section...lol I gave steph a hard time for that, saying that I took a police questioning for her.
When tiff found out she asked me to pick up some for her compassion kids too (cuz they're super cheap there). She needed 28. I bought them out of that postcard today when I went back. They had 26 of them so I got a different one for the last two. The lady behind the counter kept giving me weird looks as she counted them...One of tiff's kids really wanted a postcard with Obama on it so I decided to try union station for that. Found it on the first place I stopped! Now he can have his Obama postcard :)
So today was a good day. I slept in 15 mins and still made it to work a few mins early, got to ride the bus for free, got just inside the doors of the building when it started pouring, didn't get stopped by the Capitol police when I bought the 28 postcards, had a wonderful iced chia, got a discount on my suit I had dry cleaned, and may have a job at the international office at gvsu! I like today :)
Also, did you know there's a smurf Wikipedia? Nope, neither did I. Actually, the only thing I knew about surfs before last week was that they're blue...but thanks to Sara I now know alot more lol did I mention things can be pretty slow when the senate's on recess? Or have you figured that out yet? :p naw I actually was pretty busy in the afternoon today, just not the morning.
