The good old US of A

I’m baaaaack! Got home safely. Going up the first escalator in Paris I didn’t manage my bags right, and the largest bag fell on top of me which caused me to fall down the escalator. I hit my left leg really hard and cut and bruised it up but the guy behind me caught me right after that, which caused him to drop his luggage…and his luggage fell down with my luggage…which knocked over the person behind him…and…yeah…let the dominos fall…I jammed up the escalator. Ops. Sorry! American coming through! :p
I had planned on checking in my two pieces of luggage and only taking my laptop bag as a carryon, but since I was two pounds overweight I thought I’d just take out my carryon bag from my big luggage and put my laptop in that…slight problem. I packed it thinking it would get checked in…therefore when I went through security I got stopped. That’s when it hit me. I was like “ooooooh no….i have NO idea what I put in there..i could have anything!” Well…I had two scissors…the lady was very upset and started rattling off in french. I understood parts of it but thought now was a great time to play stupid American. “What? English??” She seemed to know only one word in English, “Forbidden!!” Then she went over the rest of my stuff with a fine tooth comb…thankfully that was it. Then when I went to get on the plane, the computer chose me for a random bag and body search. By this time I was like, “oh well. I’m getting kinda used to this I guess. Just get it over with.”
When I got to the Washington D.C. airport I got so excited! Everyone here spoke English!! The signs were all in English! It was so cool! Lol I asked questions I knew the answers to simply because I wanted to hear them reply in English.
So I’m back in Michigan! Next stop – D.C.!  :)
